Welcome,

Through the voice of our student workers the Cold Case Justice Initiative (CCJI) at the Syracuse University College of Law created this student-driven blog to provide readers with a window into our work. The students are a vital part of our mission as full members of the CCJI team.

There has never been a thorough accounting of the racially-motivated killings committed during the turbulent civil rights era and we work diligently to fight for answers and justice for the families who have long suffered. We hope this blog inspires you to become an active citizen in your community and to bring darkness into the light. If someone in your family or community lost his or her life in one of these horrific acts of violence or you know a perpetrator or witnesses, do not hesitate to contact us.

All Best,
Scott
